Biography

Kimpov Eap is a painter based in Montreal. Born in Cambodia, she has been fascinated by the beauty of nature and drawn to drawing from an early age.

She arrived in Montreal in 1980 and took a course in fashion design at the Pierre-Dupuy school in 1996. She painted her first canvas in 1999, and for nearly 20 years has been creating works using a variety of techniques including oil, pastel, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic and graphite.

Inspiring and raising awareness

Her artistic approach is characterized by instinctive painting, dressing her canvases in contrasts and warmth. Her original works transport the public into a world of emotions and authenticity.

As a member of the Association des artistes en arts visuels du nord de Montréal (AAVNM) and the Cercle des Artistes Peintres et Sculpteurs du Québec (CAPSQ), Kimpov Eap has participated in over 20 exhibitions in Canada and Europe, as well as numerous symposia. She has notably exhibited at the Centre Leonardo da Vinci and Galerie ARTUS. In 2019, she won the gold medal in the abstraction category at the 34th CAPSQ competition for her work “Le Feu de joie (Naissance)”.

Exorcising pain and healing through art

Kimpov is also a graduate of the École professionnelle des ostéopathes du Québec and has been practicing osteopathy for 15 years. She believes in mixed approaches, drawing on different techniques to maximize healing. She seeks balance and well-being, creating a union between her art and her profession as an osteopath.
